Website Design
Website Design for Riverside Community Pharmacy
An independent pharmacy given a website that competes with the chains and brings patients through the door.
Riverside Community Pharmacy is an independent neighbourhood pharmacy, the kind that knows its patients by name and competes on care the big chains cannot match. The personal service was its biggest strength, but online it was getting lost. The old website was dated, hard to use, and gave patients little reason to choose Riverside over the chain down the street.
Objective
Riverside needed a website that finally reflected the level of care it delivers in person, one that would help local patients find the pharmacy, show the full range of services it offers, and make routine requests easier, so the site could become a real source of new and returning patients rather than a forgettable placeholder.
The Challenge
For an independent pharmacy, the fight against the chains is rarely about the quality of care, it is about visibility and convenience. Patients increasingly look a pharmacy up before they ever walk in, and they judge it by what they find. Riverside's old site let the chains win that first impression by default: it looked dated next to polished corporate websites, it failed to communicate the personal service that sets an independent apart, it left the pharmacy hard to find for nearby patients searching, and it pushed every simple question and request back onto an already-busy phone. The care was better than the competition, but the digital front door did not show it.
Our Approach
The goal was a site that feels as personal and trustworthy as walking into Riverside itself, warm, clear, and genuinely helpful, not another sterile corporate template. Independents win on care and community, so the design leads with exactly that, while making sure local patients can actually find the pharmacy and handle routine requests without picking up the phone.
What We Did
A site that reflects the care.
The new design was built to feel warm and personal, the way an independent pharmacy actually treats its patients, so the first impression online matches the experience in the store. For a pharmacy competing against impersonal chains, that human feel is exactly what earns a patient's trust and their business.
Built to bring patients in.
The site was built on a local-search-ready foundation, structured so Riverside is easier for nearby patients to find when they look for a pharmacy or the services it offers. For an independent that lives on foot traffic and walk-ins, simply being found by the patients down the street, the ones chains assume are already theirs, is what turns a search into someone walking through the door.
Every service, clearly shown.
Dedicated, easy-to-read pages now present the pharmacy's full range of services, so patients understand everything Riverside offers beyond filling prescriptions, the kind of value many patients never realize their local pharmacy provides.
Routine requests off the phone.
Secure online forms let patients start refill and transfer requests and ask routine questions through the site, directed to the pharmacy team to handle. Taking that volume off the phone frees the team to focus on patients in front of them, while making things more convenient for everyone.
Built within pharmacy's rules.
Pharmacy is one of the most regulated fields there is, and the site was built with that reality in mind: forms that deliberately avoid collecting health information they should not, request-only flows that direct patients to the pharmacy team rather than attempting anything a website should not handle, and careful, compliant language throughout, built to the data-protection standards the pharmacy's jurisdiction requires. Centrix is not a legal or compliance advisor, but understanding the boundaries a pharmacy operates within is what a specialist brings.
Fast, accessible, and built for everyone.
The site loads quickly, works on any device, and meets accessibility standards, so every patient can use it easily, including the older patients who make up so much of a community pharmacy's base. In healthcare, that accessibility is not a nicety, it is part of the trust.
Outcome
The Results
Riverside now has a website that finally matches the care it gives in person, one that helps local patients find the pharmacy, shows the full value of choosing an independent, and quietly takes routine work off the phone. Refill and transfer requests through the site went from almost nothing to a steady stream, and the pharmacy now makes a first impression online that competes with the chains and draws nearby patients through the door. For an independent that depends on foot traffic and loyal patients, that kind of presence is among the most cost-effective ways to grow, and it compounds over time.
As an independent pharmacy, we were getting buried by the big chains online. Centrix gave us a site that finally reflects the level of care we give in person, and helped us show up when local patients search. Refill and transfer requests through the site went from almost nothing to a steady stream. They genuinely understood the pressures independents face.
